This pattern is called "Washington Crossing the Delaware." This pattern was designed from a painting done by Emanuel Leutze a German immigrant to the United States. It is a famous painting many of us have seen. It was designed to honor the commemorate the American Revolution as a piece of the history of the United States.
The pattern would be great stitched for yourself or for someone that is a collector of American Revolution antiques and literature.
It is a large cross stitch pattern, but brings out the detail of the painting that wouldn't be seen had it been smaller. You will have a very unique counted cross stitch pattern.
